Choosing Soap

Cold-Press Soap

Olive Oil Properties

Cleansing Protocols
Since we use soap every day for cleansing, it is extremely important to select soap
carefully. The ingredients should be scrutinized since what is in your soap will
be getting under your skin. Olive oil is the best choice for soap since its unique
moisturizing properties and high vitamin E content make it the best skin
conditioning soap available.
The pleasures and benefits
of olive oil soaps have
been renowned for
centuries. Olive oil is rich
in vitamin e which is a
natural protector of the
skin. Olive oil in soap has
a natural ability to mix
with water and go deeply
into the pores of your skin
to give a wonderful
cleansing that rarely
happens with other soap.
Choosing Soap
Pure and natural ingredients should be the most crucial factor to consider when
purchasing soap. Cold batch olive oil bar soap is the healthiest choice since the
manufacturing method ensures that the whole constituents of the vitamin E rich
olive oil are maintained. Soap should provide a subtle scent to the body and
not be overpowering with fragrances that may be offensive to others.
Cold-Press Soap
A cold-press soap refers to the manufacturing method. Cold-press is the
traditional and ancient method. This method produces soft soap.

of salt, producing thereby a principally hard soda soap with formation of

potassium chloride.

The making of soft soap, although thus a much less complex process than hard
soap making, is one that demands much skill and experience for its success.
The conditions of the manufacturer's care must be taken to regulate the
amount and strength of the alkali in proportion to the oil used, and the degree
of concentration to which the boiling ought to be continued has to be
determined with close observation.
Olive Oil Properties
Polyphenols are a broad class of antioxidants including flavonoids and
catechins which are found in red wine, chocolate, tea and many other foods.
Antioxidants help to slow the aging process.  Olives are high in polyphenols.

In addition, since olive oil contains vitamin E and oleic acid, which is also
found in human milk, it is beneficial for expecting and nursing mothers
because it aids normal bone growth and encourages development of the brain
and nervous system of infants before and after birth.  Furthermore because
olive oil contains antioxidants it has also been shown to prevent the
deteriorating effect of age on the tissues, organs and the functioning of the
brain.
Cleansing Protocol
The cleansing method used when applying soap is just as important as the
soap you choose.
Natural soaps do not lather like detergent soaps. It is therefore important to
keep in mind that your natural soap will foam and make a creamy lather, but
will not be bubbly. A good cleansing method is described below.

1.   Rub the bar soap on body, but stay out of the stream of water.
2.   Use a cloth, loofah, or scrubbing gloves to work the lather into the skin.
3.   Allow the creamy soap to stay on skin for about 15 seconds.
4.   Rinse with warm water followed by a cold splash if tolerable.
5.   Dry skin by patting with a towel rather than rubbing.
6.   Apply a natural body butter or oil after showering.
